We want to fly you to Trinidad & Tobago PDF Print E-mail
LIAT flies to Trinidad eight times a week and Tobago twice a week. Here are ten reasons why you should be on board one of those flights.

The Food
There can be few countries where the cultural mix is more gloriously displayed in its cuisine. From the ubiquitous doubles stands on Sunday mornings to silky smooth dhalpourie roti and the glorious shark and bake.

Ariapita Avenue nightlife
This is Port of Spain’s entertainment strip, and whether it’s a casual after-work lime, a night of Latin dancing or some fine dining you’re seeking, you’ll find it all along Ariapita.

Picnic at the Botanical Gardens
While away a blissful hour picnicking amidst the tropical and sub-tropical plants of Port of Spain’s Botanical Gardens, then round it off with ice cold coconuts on the Queens Park Savannah.

Tour Tobago
Hire a jeep and spend a day exploring the winding coastline roads. Expect breathtaking bays and charming villages, including Charlotteville, whose traditional homes perch precariously on precipitous slopes tumbling down to meet the ocean.

Turtles at Grande Riviere
Watching the straining forms of giant female leatherback turtles heaving themselves from the ocean in a timeless quest to lay their eggs is a never-to-be-forgotten experience. From March to July, Grande Riviere on Trinidad’s north coast is one of the best places in the world to witness this.

Blanchisseuse
For a change of pace, drive down the much-improved north coast road to the sleepy village of Blanchisseuse  – your best chance of securing a beach to yourself.

Caroni Swamp
The Scarlet Ibis is Trinidad’s national bird and your best chance of seeing it is on a boat trip to Caroni Swamp, where thousands flock in to roost at night.

Carnival
T&T is the land of Carnival and, with band launches as early as July, it’s now pretty much a year-round exercise. Experience one of the wall-to-wall fetes, or visit a mas camp as they prepare for their big day.

Hiking the Northern Range
Experience the true Trinidad by hiking the Northern Range. With its luxuriant rainforest, diverse flora and fauna, freshwater streams, pools and waterfalls it’s a special place to be. A recommended trail is the 4-5 hour return walk to Paria Bay and Waterfall.

Tobago diving, snorkelling & kayaking
To sample the best of Tobago’s fantastic diving, snorkelling and kayaking opportunities head for Speyside. Speyside’s waters offer the opportunity to see big brain coral, several species of shark and Manta Rays. For the less intrepid, paddling about with a mask and snorkel watching multi-coloured reef fish dart in and out of the coral, or leisurely kayaking the beautiful bays, are just as fulfilling.
