(Issue 7 - April 2010) Did you know that because some teachers in the US are finding it difficult to understand their Caribbean students, they are being placed in the equivalent of remedial English language classes? Not surprisingly this has angered those affected, who describe it as ‘misplacement due to misunderstanding’. What do you think? We want to hear your views on local dialects and how they’re perceived.
