(Issue 3: April 2009) The Jalousie Enclave, the only planned residential development on Jalousie Bay, St Lucia, is to employ the latest “green” technologies and claims to be the only project in the world offering buyers the opportunity to own property in the heart of a World Heritage Site. A quiet opening is planned for 2010. Pascal Mahvi, developer and founder of M Group Resorts, hosted a ceremony and reception to commemorate the groundbreaking for the Enclave where special guests included Stephenson King, Prime Minister of St Lucia, Richard Fredrick, Minister of Planning, and Allen Chastanet, Minister of Tourism. “It’s been a long hard road, and now we are faced with global economic crises,” said Mahvi. “But we have persevered, and I am thrilled to announce today that we anticipate a ‘soft’ opening in 2010, providing some 250 permanent and highly coveted jobs, despite the crisis.” Mahvi continued: “As I am fully committed to preserving the natural beauty of our valley, our development plans include adhering to the Green Building Council’s highest Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standards.” |
